Backgrounds Tutorial
|
Backgrounds to use for everything from E-Mail, (YES EVEN NETSCAPE USERS), to backgrounds for your own cards, letterheads, web pages....any thing you can think of. Simply RIGHT CLICK and choose Save Picture As, and choose a folder on your computer to save it to. Make note of where you saved it so you can find it when you're ready to use it. To use these backgrounds for Outlook or Outlook Express E-Mail, start a New Message then click on Format, Background, Picture, then navigate to the folder where you saved the background image. The Default folder is My Documents. For Netscape E-Mail, Right click on any full size stationery preview, and save it to the folder of choice on your computer. Open Netscape Messenger E-mail program. Click Edit, Preferences. Click Mail and Newgroups Formatting. Under "Message Formatting" in the right panel select the first option, Use the HTML Editor To Compose Messages -click OK. Click New Message. In the Composition or HTML email window, Click Format, scroll to the bottom of the menu, Click Page Colors and Properties. Under Background Image, Click Use Image Block. Select the location of your STATIONERY folder and click on "nameofthedesign.jpg" (example: C:\My Documents\filename.jpg) Click Open. At bottom Click Save These Settings for New Pages. Click Apply and OK. You are now ready to use your New Stationery. The only drawback for Netscape users is that the automatic formatting of the page is lost. You may need to TAB over a bit for your text to be seen. I have friends that use Netscape, and they have told me that the E-mail I've sent them using the designs from my Backgrounds Collection, came in just fine. I made NO changes on my end to my normal E-mail settings in either Outlook Express 5.0 or Outlook 2000. It seems the simple style of these designs can be handled by Netscape with no problems.
