DISNEY WORLD 2000

Being part of the Millennium Celebration at EPCOT was AWESOME!
We were but 3 of over 55,000 people there to ring in the new Millennium.
On this, and the following pages, are pictures taken on this fantastic trip.
We hope you enjoy our Virtual Scrapbook!

The first day of our trip took us to SEA WORLD.  This was our first trip there,
and we were sure glad we went!  Some of the highlights of Sea World were feeding
the Seals, petting the Dolphins, and watching SHAMU'S show.  The park itself is really pretty, a nice relaxed pace too.  We were amazed at petting Stingrays as they felt like velvet.  The Dolphins were like touching very soft rubber.

Seal
One of the Seals we fed.  They put on quite a show to get your attention when you have a fish in hand!
Shamu
SHAMU was much larger than we'd expected, and so graceful!  We got to see the new "Baby Shamu", but didn't get a good picture of it.
Dolphin
One of the very friendly Dolphins we got to pet.  Their eyes are so full of expression, you can sense how smart these beautiful creatures are.
Hungry Dolphin
The Dolphins were quite talkative as they begged for attention, and fish!

Day 2 of our trip took us to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.  It was very
crowded but we did manage to experience Twister, Jaws, Terminator, Earthquake and do some shopping.  We caught the Trolley down
International Drive and ended up at Belz Factory Outlet Mall.  It provided some FANTASTIC shopping!!   Twister was by far our favorite adventure, we really like the movie, and the adventure show was no disappointment.

Day 3 was December 31st, and we headed out early
to EPCOT.  We were staying at Holiday Inn Maingate East and caught our shuttle at 9:30 AM.
Not far into the drive our bus driver told us
that EPCOT was full, and closed!  I was sick!  For 3 years
we'd waited for this day.  Ah, but all was not lost....at the last
possible second the EPCOT turn off lane was opened up,
and our bus got in!!!   We ran from the bus stop to the turnstiles and got in!!
We were at EPCOT for 16 hours, and then 2 more hours were
spent  in the parking lot waiting for our return trip bus.  To say there was a traffic jam after midnight, would be a total understatement!!  But it was a beautiful day, perfect weather, and although very tired
every second was worth it!

Dan at games
We spent a good deal of time in INNOVENTIONS, where Daniel shared a DREAMCAST Basketball game with a guy from Maryland.
2000 logo
The new EPCOT 2000 logo of Mickey's hand holding a wand was awesome to see.  No picture can do it justice as it is HUGE!
3 of us in Italy
We enjoyed a memorable lunch at AlFredo's in Italy.  Followed by a walk around the World Showcase.
Spaceship Earth
A great shot looking across the lake at Spaceship Earth and the Millennium Logo.
This was taken from the Horizon's area where we were during the Midnight Illuminations show.
Dan at fountain
We spent quite a bit of time around IMAGINATION, and always enjoy the jumping fountains there.

The 3 of us.
3 of us at IBM
We always take time to send an E Card from the IBM booth in Innoventions.
Mickey
We enjoyed a late dinner at The Land, Garden Grill.

The thing that most surprised us was how early in the
day people started getting spots around the lake to watch
Illuminations.  We saw entire families camped out with
air mattresses and tents!!  By 11 AM there was NO standing
room anywhere around World Showcase Lagoon.  It was just unreal!
We considered ourselves lucky to at least find a bench in the HORIZON'S
area.  Even though we couldn't see much of the actual laser show
the fireworks were fantastic.  Being part of that magical night is something
                I know we'll never forget!!
